Paradisus Minecraft Server
Welcome to Paradisus: a minecraft server and community!
The server is maintained by three administrators:
- Dave
rutrum - Troy
TroyFromAce - Drew
Dehod
Please reach out to them over Discord with any questions or concerns, or write a message in one of the general chats.
This server has the following goals.
- Let players build and explore together in a survival multiplayer server.
- Play continuously on the same world long term: anywhere from 1 to 2 years.
- Have a slow early- and mid-game.
- Host a vanilla server, which means no gameplay altering mods. Some datapacks and performance enhancing mods will be installed, but they will not effect the vanilla gameplay.
- Establish an economy that incentivizes contribution to other server members and allows resources to be more accessible.
- Create a community of friends that can provide assistance and feedback to one another, and participate in community events, large scale projects, and comradery.
At the end of the day, Minecraft is a sandbox! There is no right way to play! We invite everyone to establish their own goals and explore the world and play the game as they desire. Just as important, we want to build a community. We invite you to participate in the discord and share ideas, work together on builds, and go exploring together!
By participating in this Minecraft server, you agree to abide by the following rules:
- Treat others how you want to be treated.
- Assume resources are private unless otherwise stated.
- Be conscious of where you build. Keep adequate space between other members and ask others before building nearby.
- Do not abuse minecraft exploits such as item duping (TNT duping is an exception.)
- Limitations on modded clients: please do not use mods that allow x-ray, freecam, flight, or automated player control. Please ask the administrators about any client-side mods that you think would get close to this line.
We have a couple plans for how to establish a long term world with a close community.
- We will play with a tight world border in the early days of the server. This will keep server members nearby one another to allow for collaboration. After defeating the end dragon, this border will be expanded greatly.
- We will defeat the ender dragon as a server event after some time. This will help establish strong early and mid game play, and help extend the length of the server. In particular, this locks elytra and shulker boxes which accelerates players into late game play.
- We invite members to participate in an economy. We invite you to put a price tag on some valuables you have in exchange for diamonds. Diamonds are used as a currency because they are a hard to find item that is non-renewable. We also encourage trading goods and services directly with one another as well. We hope that by engaging in trade it can help incentivize players to engage in the game with new ways while also building on the resources made available by other players.
- In addition to the ender dragon fight, we would like to hold other events throughout the duration of the server. Participation is encouraged :)
